The movement to Thrive Together is gaining momentum, and now, you can see its progress. IP3 has partnered with The Rippel Foundation to launch a beta version of the Movement to Thrive Together Hub. This free, interactive platform was designed for stewards to visualize the future they are looking to create, understand the steps to get there, and collaborate with others to take meaningful action. It tracks vital conditions for health and well-being across every U.S. county, offering rich data and inspiring stories from changemakers nationwide.
The Hub equips changemakers to:
Assess Collective Progress: Track the uptake of shared stewardship practices, the vital conditions for health and well-being, and measures of thriving across communities.
Learn From Fellow Stewards: Explore stories from local and national stewards to see how thoughtful measurement can drive change and inspire new possibilities.
Foster Shared Understanding: Gain a comprehensive view of the landscape, including opportunities and challenges.
Inform Your Work: Use the Hub to develop responsive strategies for your community’s needs.
Free, Accessible, and Evolving: The Hub is a free online resource for all. As a beta version, what’s included is just a slice of what’s to come.
IP3 and The Rippel Foundation collaborated to select data indicators for and develop the National Dashboard for Measuring the Movement to Thrive Together. The dashboard is powered by IP3 ASSESS and supports changemakers using data to inform and advance equitable well-being in communities across the country.
What is the Movement to Thrive Together?
The movement to thrive together is a growing effort to expand vital conditions across the U.S. through shared stewardship. It seeks to create communities where everyone has a fair chance to participate, prosper, and reach their full potential. Grounded in the seven vital conditions for health and well-being, people, organizations, and networks are building this movement locally and nationally, and shifting systems that don’t work effectively for all of us.
Why Track the Movement to Thrive Together?
A 2008 landmark report observes that our well-being and survival depend on “social navigation”—our ability to direct the course of change toward a shared set of conditions that we all value. This insight is central to tracking the movement to thrive together. We need a cohesive, multi-sector, multi-scale picture of how communities across America are changing that is actionable and clear. And we need to understand what is driving those changes. That is why the hub was created: to demonstrate the value of measuring the movement to thrive together and the potential this work can have in helping changemakers build a better future.
The movement to thrive together is anchored in a three-part measurement structure:
Long, Thriving Lives, which conveys the big picture “why”—to ensure all people and places thrive, with no exceptions
Vital Conditions, which is “what” we aim to expand, creating the foundation for long, thriving lives
Shared Stewardship, which expresses “who” does this work (stewards) and “how” they do it (through shared stewardship), working collaboratively to transform systems and expand vital conditions
This structure outlines the necessary elements to advance systems change and equips stewards with a comprehensive view of what matters most, clear pathways for progress, and tools to discern their contributions to the movement to thrive together.
The Hub is a free online resource for all. Currently in beta, we’re looking to grow the Hub and welcome shared action and collaboration to enhance these tools further. If you’re interested in partnering with IP3 and The Rippel Foundation on future interactions, reach out to us!
